Aim :
The project contributes to the design of a long-term energy policy programme in the municipalities, encouraging the kick starting of regional dynamics and the intensification of collaboration with the Canton. It also encourages exchanges with other regions which are involved.
The objective is to increase the proportion of renewable energy produced locally in the region out of the total energy consumed in the region. Energy self sufficiency of four regions in Switzerland:
Following a first study called « renewable energies for sustainable development » which ended in 2005 in the framework of the Interreg IIIA programme, very encouraging results have been obtained in four regions of Switzerland, i.e. the districts of Courtelary (BE), Singine (FR) and Orbe (VD), as well as the region of the Val-de-Ruz (NE). They show that it is possible to get close to energy self sufficiency. The objective of the current project is to establish a list of concrete energy measures in the regions aimed at energy self-sufficiency in the medium term (2035 horizon).
